“Thankful N’ Thoughtful” is Bettye LaVette's 4th album of an 8-year collaboration with ANTI- Records - the label who helped change her from a cult figure back to mainstream and re-introduced her talent to a world audience hungry for authentic R&B and soul. It begs the question, "Why didn't it happen earlier?" But it matters not now and, as Pete Townshend said, "She's a voice from the wilderness. How did we miss her for so long? ...Now she is here, an extraordinary discovery in a blues voice, we must hang on to her tightly”. Bettye, who's talent has only deepened in those years, is Thankful N’ Thoughtful - as are the fans who followed her during the lean years in the belief that one day she would get the recognition she deserved.
This is a Limited Edition CD/EP, manufactured for Record Store Day in 2012. It consists of the remaining five tracks that were recorded at the Thankful N' Thoughtful sessions. It was a limited pressing of 3000 copies. We have some for sale and when they are gone they are gone. It will be a collector's item. Hear the rest of the songs that were being considered for Thankful N' Thoughtful. Buy this and mix and match with the original CD and come up with what 12 songs YOU would have put on the original CD.
